My Reflection with Canaan Church

Canaan Church is a big part of my life with rich history and lots of memories. She is my spiritual home, where God has settled me since my late teens in the 1980’s. God through Canaan, like a spiritual mother, has taught and nurtured me from Christian infancy to a grown serving Christian. I owe my spiritual journey to God and to our big spiritual family-many uncles, aunties, pastors, brothers and sisters... (You know who you are. I am grateful for you. You are all precious to me.) In my rebellious years, I had once or twice left this Christ body for periods of my life, but God always managed to bring me back to our big family by circumstances or special someone and with clearer purpose- to serve; to share God's love and make a difference in others' lives. As I reflect back to this memory lane, it well up much of my tender emotions of God’s love and blessings that were shared in Canaan. At times, there were tears and hardships as there were laughters and happinesses. No matter which, there was always someone willing to be there for you. I am thankful to God for bringing me to Canaan. My spiritual journey is still ongoing, milestones to be set, and there will be more precious memories to be made in Canaan. But for now, I just want to give a big shout out to our mother church: "Happy 40th birthday!"
